Description
Another one that I started some time ago and finally managed to complete. There is next to no postwork in this, but lots of messing with textures, surfaces and shaders.. additional lighting by me as well.
I dedicate this to my son who is always doing his best to help me through my illness.
He has taken on so many of the chores and tasks that I should be doing but so often just can't.
I really am grateful for his kindness and generosity. I really would be lost without him.
I can only offer him my deepest and most heartfelt thanks.

No postwork you say? Fooled me. Just goes to show you what can be done in the material room. Now I see where the new avatar came from. Your attention to detail always comes through, the well done point lighting, and the way the cats gaze perfectly follows her arm. The way he is gently rubbing her side, just like any cat does. I like the way this looks like a quest, a journey through a dark land.

Beautiful image and dedication! Wonderful composition and poses. The two seem a team, close companions, working in sync with each other. Beautiful atmosphere, colors, and textures. I like the light and the mist. Excellent work!

another touching dedication, this time for your son; and your words were very touching. At the time this went up, I was caring for my dad & didn't know if I was doing all I could, as there was such chaos going on...but what you wrote about Jesse was truly touching & I hope all children can be as he's been for you. As for the image, you created more undulating light, almost like cream or like it was painted with a very soft brush. (The same light ana responded to in that christmas image at the end of 2011.) If your postwork was limited, as you said above, you show how good you are with the original image. You've highlighted the woman & beast by surrounding them with a lot of deep light; and your night---as is the case with your other night pieces---is luminous rather. I mean, it's dark, but it's luminous! And her torch has a beautiful blueish glow to it, which seems to cast over everything. But also, as she guards the animal, the animal seems to guard her. Like you & your son. Beautiful dedication & image, and I'm so sorry I never said anything to all these pieces...I thought I'd commented, and I hadn't. Your work is filled with love, Sandy, which is the greatest gift of all, and I wish you the best, and many blessings your way. Wonderful to be back here again, a real gift...
