Description
Captured 7/31/10, at the American Civil War Reenactment, held at the vast and beautiful El Dorado Park in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Much better viewed full size.
The top three shots were slated for later display with my cavalry fotos, but, in retrospect, I now feel that since this is the battle series of the event, I believe it better to add them in at this juncture, even though they are out of sequence in presentation of this conflict. Hope you don't mind the confusion.
The cavalry in pic #2 are a bit blurred because I was focusing on the rebel troops in the distance when the troopers and horses came thundering by at breakneck speed, thereby not giving me time for any readjustments.

Really great looking collage here Harry, it is always a thrill to see the newest Civil War pics you have. Always enjoy your thoughts on your photos, and it was a great idea to focus on the troops in the second pic
Great action collage. I can imagine how difficult to shoot while riding...need a skill not just luck.
As always, a wonderful collection of visual reports of the re-enactment of this famous battle. You really got in there! I love the smoke and colours, at least from my safe distance viewing on a computer. I imagine I'd feel quite differently were I there in person!

Just like in war I guess, you didn't have time to reload before the horses were upon you. Excellent captures in this lovely collage. The horses look as if they have seen it all before and just want to sample the grass in the bottom capture.
this is well done. as for confusion; war is confusion.
Three Union and two Rebel Cavalry images, all excellent. My friends who have been reenactors say...the guys with the horses are the guys with money:)
