JANUARY, 1987
For all the non-Americans, that's 55 degrees Fahrenheit. 55 Celsius would be pretty hot... Also, Minnesota is a place that has "frostbite within seconds" types of winters.
Savvy viewers might say that Kelly (redhead) is really the one who is underdressed. Well, I could go looking for a V4 winter jacket... That a kid might wear... in the 1980's... But then again, they're going indoors after this, so why bother?

Ha! This is so full of subtle things. The culture clash is most obvious, but then there's the body language - Kelly is less gesticulating while Crystal is even "offensively" or "provocatively" pointing and waving her hands, like she's frustrated at how "odd" Kelly is. She's even a bit put-downish. Crystal, and from "cold" Minnesota - is there a connection between her name, origin, and attitudes? This promises to be a long series of conflicts, missunderstandings, looking down on others (interesting having the black girl with the air of superiority - a reversal of the stereotyped roles). And a LOT of learning about tolerance of each other. You've done a great one with this set of images. I'm looking foreward to what's to come. Is this possibly a reflection of something happening in your neighborhood? :-)
