A couple of not so obvious things I really like about today's speed render. First, instead of starting from scratch, I used the figure, pose and even the clothes props from Tuesday's project ("Youku Too") -- so I ended up spending more time tweaking and postworking. Second, I was blown away by the Bird Cult morph and texture by RAW Art at DAZ. The modeling, detail and expression are exquisite! To think of all the hours I wasted trying to combine silly Songbird heads with with V3 and V4. The bustier and bodice are part of Aery Soul's "Hear No Evil" set. One of the few Aery Soul products that can be found at Runtime DNA and not Renderosity. My only disappointment is the wing MAT, which lacks the fine fine texturing and coloration of the other props. The background started out as a render of Stonemason's The Ministry. But after adding PS brushwork and texture layers, not much remains visible. I've been fascinated -- you might even say fixated -- by the work of Hieronymus Bosch most of my life. In 2005, I finally made a pilgrimage to the Prado to see "The Garden of Earthly Delights." Amazing! It can be a little hard to find the right gallery, however. In Madrid, Hieronymus Bosch is known as "El Bosco."
