Description

Pencils for an eight page Green Lama story that will be part of a black and white anthology featuring 1930s Pulp characters. It will be called All-Star Pulp Comics and will be published by Airship 27 in the next month or so. The story will act as bridge between the Green Lama Unbound novel and the Crimson Circle, due out later this year. Comics are hard to do! Thanks for looking. Digital inking next post.

Whoa. That harkens back to the late 1930s/early 1940s: Tommy gun, swastika arm band, slender blonde slightly aghast.

I like it, and am really looking forward to picking this up VERY soon. I meant to pick up the Green Lama Unbound book last year, but got distracted. I've got two or three of the High Adventure reprints, and all the radio shows, so I'm definitely a fan of Jethro! Question: Would it increase the sense of drama if you zoomed in more on the three central figures in the splash panel? I'm wonder if she (and the guy) were closer to us, then you could make the Nazi bigger and that would make his tommy gun more menacing. Just a thought... I really can't wait to see this inked! Will you be using any brush strokes with gray scale washes, or will this be a traditional pen & ink look?

Always a pleasure to see early drafts; they are the first steps away from the blank page. Gary
