Description
The Hawfinch, Coccothraustes coccothraustes, is a passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. As its closest living relatives are the Evening Grosbeak (C. vespertinus) from North America and the Hooded Grosbeak (C. abeillei) from Central America especially Mexico, the Hawfinch is sometimes also referred to as the European grosbeak.
Le Gros-bec casse-noyaux est une petite espèce de passereau partiellement migrateur. C'est l'espèce la plus grande de la famille des fringillidés.

Lovely to see this Hawfinch nice work Michel
What a neat little feathered critter. Wonderful capture! : )
This is the largest of the finches I believe and a type that I have never seen. Super shot.
Beautiful bird first time to see one, lovely capture!
Un beau spécimen. Pas étonnant avec un tel bec qu' il puisse faire peu de cas d' un noyau de cerise ou d' olive.
So cute little bird! Wonderful capture!
Sweet.
Very beautiful bird !Wonderful capture !
stunning image! well done!
Very nice capture!! LOVE grosebeaks. I have not seen Evening Grosebeaks for many, many years. They used to be rather common here in New Hampshire...but it has got to be close to 30 years since I have seen one here. I miss their beautiful yellow. Hopefully some day I shall see one again!
Wonderful capture,very beautiful!!!!!!!!!
I think the closest we have to a similar colouration here is the Bullfinch. This is a really fabulous capture. ^=^

Il n'a pas seulement un gros bec. Il EST gros. C'est normal avec tout ce que tu leur donnes à manger ...
