Description
Joseph Wheelwright's Listening Stone was completed in 1995. It is 40x44x60 inches (101.6x111.8x152.4 cm) and carver out of a single block of granite. That is a 1936 Chrysler Air Stream in the background. This sculpture was on display at the deCordova Sculpture garden in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

Very interesting statue Great capture
That's really putting your ear to the ground!
the thumbnail did not give the image away.. but it is FUN.... now to see it. good photo
Like the Air Stream as much as the rock:) Well done.
I really dig that Airstream, and what a sculpture. I love the face. He looks so careworn, but content with things: very contemplative. Like he's seen (and heard) a lot. It reflects on his face, in the set of his features, and it's a really fine capture. You caught the pebbly, dimply "face" of the stone quite well and the whole image really works nicely in imparting a real sense of the environment. WOW, and a classic car too! What a shot!
Amazing capture !!!!!
Great capture Dana.

LOL!! funny !! fantastic capture!
What a super sculpture with such a different feel, excellent capture of it too.
Stellar shot of the sculptured head, with an ear to the ground, listening for an approaching train or footsteps. If you hadn't mentioned it I would have thought that this was a remnant from the Colossus of Rhodes, Dana.
~Great capture of a really unique sculpture!~
"""I LOST ME HEAD"""! terrific capture.
