Nice detailed shot Bill. Is it a Corsair, or maybe even a Grumman Bearcat?

I'm glad you ran over there to get the information you needed, but now I'm jealous! I can't wait to go over there ... soon!! It looks like their planes are in pristine condition, and my shutter finger is getting itchy to snap a few (hundred) airplane shots!

Aw, nuts! And I was expecting to count bolts! :) Very well composed photo illustrating the details holding this engine together. A single Nut/bolt doesn't hold much, but together they all provide considerable strength. The black and silver struts supporting the engine also show nicely. What plane is it? Keep up the good work! :-)

Super photograph Bill showing some of the highly skilled work that goes in to making an aircraft fly. Your title reminds me of the story where two lunatics escaped from the asylum and raped two women in a laundrette and then ran off. The head lines in the newspaper next day read:- 'Nuts screws washers and bolts'. Lol.

Tigercat - woohoo! A "C" series R2800, should be a -34W but, that's right, I CAN'T READ THE TAG! Who's fault is that? LOL. The C series introduced the "split gearbox" in place of the old "one piece" dome shaped box. For WW2 fighter types these should only be on Tiger and Bear Cats, P-47 M's and N's and Corsair -4's ... but currently expediency and cost sometimes finds them on earlier versions of these planes ... oh well. CB16's (Commercial version - like for the DC-6) were cheap and plentiful in the '70's and '80's.
