Description
And so, Haruka submits, and Miss Strong's web of influence expands... Miss Strong knows that she must never call in her debts except in the direst of circumstances. After all, when someone feels like they still owe you for something important you have done, they can be kept under your control forever......
It may be difficult to accept that someone with such a mafia-like outlook can actually have everyone's best interests at heart. She is a good person though, really, but it's hard for her to shut off the intimidation. I don't want to conjure the phrase "mama grizzly" so let's call her a "mama scorpion" or something.
This was one of those pages that is not especially fun or interesting, but I thought it was a "plot requirement" to explain why, if Haruka arrived in the USA as exchange student, she never left. Her path to citizenship would come later, but for now, she has bought some time. I'm sorry if it seems that her dream of becoming a nurse came out of nowhere. I guess I should have mentioned that before... But it does set up something for future installments.
And hey... If this isn't really the way immigration works, how about we just ignore that, okay? Ha.
If anyone would be interested in exploring Miss Strong's darker side in the future, please let me hear about it!

Immigration works? That's a new one! Great strip and interesting commentary. I think it would be interesting to see some more of the Dark Side
Hey, I'm sure that somebody owes somebody who owes Miss Strong. The good old American know-who, that's how it works. :) I love the last line, and the lighting made the perfect mood for this piece.
Mama Scorpion??? That sounds like a perfectly nasty title! "Yes Mother Scorpion, it shall be done immediatly!" "HISSSSSS!!!!" "No anchovies, understood Mother scorpion!"
it should be interesting to see how this plays out. :-D
nice, love the atmosphere the lighting gives — and would love to see the outcome — guess this will not be like Haruka's bed-time reading of Tsuru no Ongaeshi
