Description
With these snowy conditions, a lot of special birds are visiting our garden:
The Hawfinch, Coccothraustes coccothraustes, is a passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. As its closest living relatives are the Evening Grosbeak (C. vespertinus) from North America and the Hooded Grosbeak (C. abeillei) from Central America especially Mexico, the Hawfinch is sometimes also referred to as the European grosbeak.

He really is gorgeous. Great shot!
A beautiful bird and a wonderful capture, dear Michel. Hugs, kisses, Bisous. DiDi. xx

Wonder of the litlle one. Colourful shot.
The soft background is so perfect for the soft blending of this bird's feather patterns. Stellar work!

What a striking finch, I have never seen one in a lifetime of birdwatching! They seem to leave when they know I'm coming.
