Description
This is a basic photo of a beautiful Barred Owl. These are relatively common in the eastern U.S.A. and more information including the very surprising voice is at this link:

We call her Dreamer because it is believed some accident has impaired possibly both hearing and sight. An owl needs both to survive in the wild. This owl will very likely become a permanent resident of a refuge and educational center where she may live as well as possible but not in the wild. If for some miracle she should regain those essential senses, she will be evaluated for release.
A great horned owl was released a few weeks ago. A group of folks gathered in the woods that night to learn about owls were quite surprised to witness that event. To see any rehabilitated bird again fly freely is wonderful.
So, for Christmas, I wish for this owl a miracle of regaining senses and if not that, then to find peace in a new life as an educational bird.
Yes, I wish also miracles for those people in deserving need this Christmas season.

wonderful capture!!
How adorable!
I envy your interaction with these birds. I am sure the release of the recovered featherd friends is an overwhelming feeling. Wonderful to know if they can not make it in the nature anymore human look after them.
How gorgeous. I adore the personality in that face. The beak is glowing! Stellar!

Wonderful capture my friend. In the Lord we must trust as he is the one who can do miracles. May such miracle happen so that this bird may heal fully to be released in the wild.May there be miracles where it is needed.

This is a beautiful shot of this cute lady! I do hope she regains her senses as well! We saw a couple of barred owls on our travels recently, but they were too far off to get good shots of them. Was neat to see them nonetheless, and yes, they do have a VERY eerie call- don't think I'd want to be alone in the woods and hear something like that! :o)
