Catherine was a bright and precocious apprentice mage - she was certain she was much better than her teachers would ever admit.
One day she was piqued to overhear her master and the other elders talking about a tremendous struggle to banish the "Evil One" years before. And so in the dark of night, she crept to the scrying pool and used newfound skills to activate it to learn more about this mysterious creature.
Of course she did not know he had been trapped in this very place, and the sentinel spell would interpret her clumsy inquiries as... an invitation.
Just a doodle, playing with light and some new toys. No postwork except for the logo. This is Tanye, the character from the SF "bug" image awhile back. She's a great action character - always getting into trouble! This is a very busy time for me. Lots has been happening: my older boy shipped out to Marine basic training, our food closet has fed 5,000 people since the first of November, and I'm still trying to help my friend save his business. I know its better to be to busy than to be bored, but it would be nice if things would slow down just a tad. Aranée fans, I have not forgotten you. The next few installments are difficult - both technically and emotionally. Because of this, I have decided to complete the next three or four so you will not have to wait so long between episodes. Wow, this is totally wicked lighting work Larry. Blue is a challenging lighting color to get right but you did a bang up job. I remember the last episode of your series and I know from my own previous work that it can be really challenging to get through installments when bad things happen to characters that you have become attached too. Good plan on your part not to leave us waiting weeks or a month between hard to take panes.
