Description
A special Happy Birthday wish for Jane Eden!
This ancient Flemish tapestry hangs in the informal dining room. It is so large that Hearst had them raise the floor above so that the tapestry could be hung to his liking. When walking around the second floor, there are three steps up to enter one room and three steps down exiting that room on the other side. The tapestry is the reason. A no flash photo recently scanned. Please zoom.

Yoiks, and away! Excellent capture of the wonderful patterns and texture in this tapestry of the hunting party chasing down the terrified stag, Dana.
Such a famous tapestry! I didn't realize it was that large! I can't imagine the hours and hours and hours it took to craft it!
A wonderful tapestry with so much detail and it must be huge. Fancy raising the ceiling just for the tapestry. A lovely clear capture.
