Cool image, and gallery. It looks like you're using a very similar approach to mine. You're creating a heightfield from some value for each pixel in a 2D Mandelbrot/Julia set plot, right? Are you using electrostatic potential? My app, FractalWorks, uses either Distance Estimate (DE) or fractional iteration value data, where DE data gives the most appealing results.
