Gerry Boulet was the best French canadian Rock Star (1946-1990)
Joseph Gaétan Robert Gérald (Gerry) Boulet was a Canadian rock singer. Most famous as vocalist for the Quebec rock band Offenbach, he also released two solo albums. He's also considered as an inovator for doing rock in the French language.
Born and raised in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, he started in music with the band Les Gants Blancs, which evolved into Offenbach, in 1969.
In 1984, friction within the group led Boulet to record his first solo album, Presque 40 ans de blues. The following year, the band performed a farewell concert at the Montreal Forum.
In 1987 he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Boulet released his second solo album, Rendez-vous doux, In 1989, the album won him three Félix Awards. Some songs in this album clearly talk about his fight for staying alive.
On July 18, 1990, Boulet died in Montreal. Offenbach later reunited with Martin Deschamps on vocals.
Three more albums, including a live album and a rock opera, were released after Boulet's death.

I like the pictures - very rich look to them. ...I've never heard of Offenbach... My click into music actually happened in 1980... before that, I was heavily into Elvis, sang along with all his music... then a friend asked me what the hell I was listening to - lol - He liked Led Zeppelin - With Elvis, Frank Sinatra, John Denver influences - Zeppelin hit the gas peddle - lol ...I'll try and check out your link tomorrow, it's 5am, been up all night and don't want to wake the Wife - lol or the dog, or the nieghbors - lol

I like this Magik! Love the idea of the "underground". It's kinda creepy, like these 'bots have a world of their own... like some kinda honouring going on here! Great idea and presentation! The "head" hauncho reminds me of the "Wizard" from Oz :)
