Description
Spanner (left) and Toffee (right).
This was the beginning of an idea for a three panel comic strip. Sadly this remains in the every growing to-do pile.
It was going to be a story about two cockney Jack-the-lads who while paradoxically working incredibly hard to avoid hard work get into all sorts of bother (or should that be bovva?).
Drawn on my iPad in ArtStudio.
Thanks for looking.

Good work
Looks like two middle aged men... a better story might be with them trying to live in todays economy. I'm middle aged, I make less money now than I did 10 years ago. I have 3 trades and all of them went belly up because of the economy. first trade is printing, went to school for it, the computer came out and now anyone can design and typesett ads... 2. Auto body and Paint - lol, what a joke... 3. Carpentry - I became good at my job, was in demand was making $25 an hour, was offered $40 an hour and then Gas prices screwed everything up - then the economy got screwed - no one has money to put into their houses - even more, people are losing their houses cause they can't afford them. At present, I sit at home waiting for a hernia surgery come monday - which I got running a broken buffer at my low paying job. I don't know your background, but if any of this sounds familiar in your life, you just might go with it - lol
Mike, I feel for you; even if I can't relate entirely. I grew up in London in hand-to-mouth working class family. Job stability was non-existent, as was forward financial planning (can't plan with money you don't have). I vowed that my own adult life would be different, and I'm incredibly thankful it is.
Coooooooooooooooooooool style of cartoon artwork!
I think this is a great style.
I really like the expressiveness and the white on black, very engaging!
I feel for u Mike even though I live in a so called third world country where things are really really challenging. Right now I'm running a Petrol fueled electricity power generating set which costs about $299.50 and costs about $6.66 to fuel daily due to the socio-economic factors here. I know the US economy really went down last year but my country has had economic issues since I can remember...lol But I wish you quick recovery after your medical operation Mike. Nice work shrimp!
