Description
Underneath the Pyramid; or The Bone Hunter
This posting is dedicated to Steve Simmons, a relatively new modeler at ShareCG. Steve's models are well crafted, yet relatively low-poly in count. He has a series of underground Mayan scenes that are nicely crafted and also lo in polygon counts. The one used here is Number 3. The only lighting in this post is from the two lanterns.
I'm pretty sure most professional archeologists would cringe at the thought of a big dog set loose within a newly discovered Mayan tomb, but this is fantasy so we can get away with it; okay?
Miss Deanna J has a new partner, known as Locke. She knows little about him, but he seems dependable and carries his weight. Locke is interested in the next passageway, while Deanna is studying some wall decorations. Meanwhile, her dog, Butch, has begun turning into the opposite passageway, having scented the distant aroma of moldering old bones. He isn't referred to as the "Bone Hunter" for nothing. Deanna and Locke with soon follow after Butch. He also has a nose for gold and jade as well.
Once again, I've had to reinvent Deanna and Butch. Sigh. This is the third time. I hate computer crashes, don't you?
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Also thanks for past comments and encouragements on previous postings.

OUTSTANDING!!! A beautifully done scene ~ Bravo!!
Great looking scene Nice lighting and wonderful story
Very nice. I've seen his stuff at sharecg. But the demo renders he did didn't look that great. Maybe he should use your render. I think I'll pick them up now.
amazing render and astonishing realism, great idea to make this type of image.
fantastic scene and splendid atmosphere! :)
Great looking scene. The mesh looks very nice and low polygon can be good when you start packing in those poser people.
That's a wonderful scene !!
Man these are cool! I really like the damaged frescoes on the walls, that's a great detail.
Unfortunately, I just learned today from Steve Simmons that he has pulled most of his models out of ShareCG. All four of the Subterranean Passages models were among those pulled. His rationale was that he needed to make some money with them and ShareCG just doesn't pay enough to make it worth his while. I can certainly understand that but it is a real loss to the general CG community, I can tell you.
Backup, Backup, Backup. I tell you three times. Always, always, always, Backup! Nice image.
Nice Work! -Will-
