Description
I've always had an affinity for old abandoned houses. When my brother, Steve, and I were boys they were fun places to play and let our imaginations go wild. Later, in my adulthood, I saw many houses slowly deteriorate over the years as many rural folk abandoned the farm for city life. Some of the houses belonged to great uncles and aunts in my extended family. One was our own farmhouse. Today, the later is just a pile of rocks where the kitchen used to be. However, you can't see the rocks for all the weed trees and brush growing around and on it. Sometimes, the only reminder that someone lived in a particular spot is a small wooded area that has Tiger Lilies or Sweet William growing in patches. Sometimes, in the spring, it will be a cluster of Daffodils.
Thanks for looking. Also for your past comments and encouragements.

Great Image Jeremy!! I love grungy old buildings..
I love these old places too; they all have a history but are now silent and forlorn. A rich and gorgeous image ~ Bravo!!
Very beautiful capture Sad reminders of the past
I was the same way, old places always intrigued me. Nicely done!
great scene and composition!
Excellent composition! :)
Very nice picture, Jeremy. I'm getting to the age where some places I used to know are now ruins. But more often, the overgrown place I used to know are now subdivisions..
Beautiful image! I too love old abandonded structures, they seem to have a story.
i have a special feeling about them too...even if i was not allowed to play there :D the little story behind awakes my curiosity ;)
Cool image. When I was a kid my cousins on the farm liked to walk in the woods where an old log cabin was abandoned. The trees grew right through it.

Looks like nature is about to reclaim this real estate, great work
First rate details and old houses are most fascinating!!!
I share this love for old abandoned houses, Jeremy, of course it is sad to see them crumble as they have been home to someone for a long time, but also it is fascinating to see nature regain her grounds...smile
Great shadows.
