Description

Just a quick photo - mostly to let everyone know I'm still alive ;-) This was taken the first night we stayed at the Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge in Arkansas during our recent vacation. You can read more about this area HERE. This was the view from the front of the lodge, at the edge of the parking lot. The lodge sits atop Rich Mountain, the second highest point in Arkansas. I set my Digital Rebal on a tripod, and for this photo, I pretty much maxed it out with a 30-second exposure F-5.6 at ISO 1600 (thus the noise which resembles film grain). The distances here are a little decieving. The closest of those lights are probably 5 - 10 miles away, and the most distant are on the order of 30 - 40 miles away. That's not counting the lights in the sky, of course. Those are light-years away! I've had a lot of things going on lately, which is why I haven't been around much. I am presently in the middle of installing all my content into the new computer - and that's going to take a while. It's amazing how much digital content I've gathered in the last year! I'm taking my time and laying out all my runtimes in a somewhat logical order. The runtimes are all external, so I can just back them all up, and if I have to reload them all again, I'll be able to just copy them then just link them to Poser. Once everything is done, I'll be calling the TNA Girls back from furlough, and we'll get Chapter 2 off and running! I've changed my avatar for the moment - my favorite model, of course! I've put Tara's excellent photo of me on my homepage. I'm way behind on commenting, but I'll be catching up in the next few days. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I dread moving what I have to a new computer. I have a lot of stuff on mine. And my niece has at least twice as much on it. She's been using Poser a few years before I discovered the joys of this addiction.

I see your avatar grew some boobies - I didn't know you had that in you - lol cool picture, reminds me of those scenes you see on the net and all of a sudden a flying saucer whiz's by... I like your boobs, just don't know about the face lift, I liked seeing your face.

I was about to casually inquire if you realized your avatar seems to have developed bewbs...Spontaneous Avatar Bewb Development Syndrome (SABDS) is not a thing to be ignored! But I see you have things under control. Have fun with all the reloading, I'll have to do a lot of re-organizing soon and I'm not looking forward to it.

Sounds like you have your hands and mind full of busy stuff for a while I'll be adding another Hard drive next week and installing Daz 3.1.whatever on it. Great photo, btw!

Everything is now up-to-date in Kansas City! ...considering your new avatar and most interesting homepage:) You've done a great job transferring this elaborate and chock-full scene from nighttime to digital. Thanks for including your settings... Sorry to have missed you last week...we were hoping to be done last Sunday night and hit the road Monday. We finally cleared town at 5:30pm Wednesday and spent the next day in the Flint Hills. Now are making our way slowly toward the northwest...hope to cross the Rockies today/tomorrow.

I have never been there before. But I have been to Devils Den many times. I have camped at Lake Dardenelle, and a few others in Hot Springs and who knows where else. I am thinking you and I live within a state or so (maybe the same state) of each other. I am in Missouri, I am from Arkansas. Been living in Missouri for 11 years now. I too have been installing everything on a new computer and organizing it all. And I was way behind on comments, I have been playing catch up since yesterday. Great shot btw.

Thats breath taking Rod. I love how it almost looks like its in layers, from the stars to the glow from the city, then the city lights and down to the foreground. You sure do have an eye for photography my friend.

That's a really great shot, I like it that you captured not just the city lights, but the stars as well.

This really works well. I saw the thumbnail and immediately starting thinking of Close Encounters of the Third Kind only without that annoyingly bright cosmic carousel looming on the horizon. I really love the details you caught here and I'm trying to figure out that constellation. Well...it looks like it might be a constellation, but there's a pattern that looks a bit like you caught the flashing formation lights on an airplane as it zoomed through your 30 second exposure. This is great! I need to catch up on viewing and commenting, but I'm glad I started here!
