Description
After time spent on the Music Room render, I thought I would go back and work on this interior scene inside the USS Alligator model I have on Cornucopia3D.
I had thought that this would have been an interesting model for Vue users, especially having provided the interior.
As you all know I model things that I'm going to use in my work flow. I provide these models as a challenge to you as they are for me. Purchasing an asset just so one can plop it down and render can be relaxing.. especially in these times, but I try to challenge myself with each canvas effort, and carry this over into my models, hoping that my customers will also take up the challenge of pushing themselves to higher levels.
While the original USS Alligator hangs on the wall of the Ship Wrecks of the Atlantic State Museum in Cape Hatteras, and I have shown what is possible with the interior.... even a so-so attempt at first, I am sorry to say that this model has sold only one legal copy.
I'm not looking for huge sales... if I were I'd be modeling glossy leather thongs for the top heavy crowd. BTW... at 63... I still know how to take a cold shower... I'm not dead yet.. but for you new folks coming up through the ranks.. challenge yourselves.
As I heard one guy say... Not a Sermon.. just a thought.

Nice model of a fascinating bit of Civil War history. I see you modeled the later version, after she was converted to a hand-drive screw in 1862. It's much sleeker - I can't imagine the oar-driven version! Your vision of the interior is totally believable, right down to the hand-crank and the textures. Bravo!
Im not much of a Civil war buff... but i must say this is an interesting creation. I really like this image. Its going into my faves.

That is a fantastic model, I really like the surface texture you used, and the wonderful light streaming in through the portholes is an excellent touch for this scene. Excellent stuff, and I can't wait to see what you're going to do with it!
I love the lighting and the dirty look to everything, it give it such an emotional reaction, as if we were right there with them. Wonderful details too, the rivets, wow, really great.

I like the lights in this image a lot. Very impressive.
First class modeling, second to none. But the first submarine in the civil war doesn't interest me that much. Is it authentic? Yes. Is it beautiful? Let us be polite and let the case rest. Meanwhile, winnston1984 (who I am sure doesn't possess your modeling skills) has published RiverCottage.

Hi Done, I purchased this model from you, but wonder if I have nearly enough RAM. I think Cornucopia is quite dead if you take a look at the Galleries. Very few if any critiqes. :-(
