Description
I went down to the deCordova Sculpture garden and Museum this summer. This is the main entrance to the museum. Antony Gormley cast two identical 75 inch (190cm) tall statues that are made of iron. One statue is in the museum lobby and the other outside. The lighting was better inside but the women, at the desk, behind the statue, would not allow a photo. So I went outside and the security guard said to go ahead and take the photo. Life is strange. As my father always said, different rules for different fools.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

You don't need the nudity flag on Sculptures Dana. ;) Excellent capture and reflection!
waht an odd figure in front of the mirror dana, cool pic.
The title of this art is "Reflection II" but it is not a reflection BUT two separate statues. Dana
Mirror mirror in the glass how can some people be a pane the glass? Excellent capture and great narrative
great capture!!
Cool capture! I am glad some people, like the guard, allow common sense and decency to reign!
I admire your persistance, nice shot.
At first I thought it's one single statue, this is an interesting ideea. I cannot see the reason they didn't let you took a shot from inside... unfortunately I come across this kind of rules asweell, here we're not aloaud to take pictures inside the mall, weird but true :( Thx for sharing!
I just love his work. I haven't seen this one before, thankyou Dana!
Yeah, malls can have some very strange rules. A group of us were once kicked out of a mall for singing Christmas carols beside a Salvation Army fellow with his donation pot. That pot was about full by the time we were told to leave though. They said it was interfering with business. So we went to one of the better areas of Edmonton and started going door to door, just singing. The second door we went to was the home of Alberta's Lieutenant-General Grant MacEwan which was a complete surprise to us. He was very nice and invited us in for hot chocolate.
outstanding image!!
Very nice capture, jobsworths make me chuckle :o)
It's probably a better shot this way anyway! Great capture!
Very cool display. I'm glad you got a shot of it. :)
cool shot for someone who not to photo anything but you did hear the security guard go ahead. this week end I went to a art opening and the security guard say no photos. I say ok and went and put my camera up in the car. i went up and saw a lot of people takeing photos all over the place and then i saw a sign that say no photos in the building. I had my big camera only at the time. i will bring in my pocket camera next time.
Cool capture my friend....great shot.
WONDERFUL CAPTURE!
Superb image my friend, absolutely work, congratulations!
A golem, as my mother used to say! Sure looks like a reflection to me. Terrific clarity and lighting in this shot of the nude iron dude, plus his doppleganger, Dana.
