Mikey wants big boom! Mikey wants many big booms!!! Great shot! or is that grape shot?
Super Dana...I've been aboard the Constitution but without a camera. Like this shot!
Formidable!
do make a wonderful design. wonder how people lived after all those canons going off.
Brilliant shot Dana.
Great shot , Dana !
Really interesting!
Awesome shot Dana! Excellent. :)
A wonderful old ship!
Cool shot dude.
fabulous image!!
Beautiful photo of rigging, construction and the 2 part gun ports. The size of the planks in the hull suggests their thickness, which made the hull impervious to cannon balls at battle ranges, giving her the nickname "Old Ironsides". Larger guns below due to center of gravity and design questions. They also had better chance of hitting at/just below the water line in that position. Smaller upper guns for raking the opponent ship's decks and destroying rigging. Thanks for posting! :)
Really excellent shot, Dana; great compo and I love these old sailing ships!
