Description
We went to the LA County Fair this week. We had a good time. After the sun went down, I took out my camera and had some fun. I took a few shots, then remembered I had the Star Filter so I took a lot of photos. ...and of course, the monopod and tripod were still home in my closet :P so, all photos are hand held, with a prayer and exhale. I'll have to go back to try some longer exposure shots.
I have been a little bit busy here at home, with regular everyday type stuff. I had a great trip to Las Vegas. I thought my camera died on one day. I almost cried :( The camera wouldn't focus on anything, therefore it kept 'working' and I couldn't take a shot. I couldn't figure it out. I was ready to look for the nearest Best Buy to get another camera until I could get my Rebel fixed. Alas, my husband, the techy-engineer guy, figured it out! The lens was stuck! Once it was loose again... waalaaaaa... photos! YAY! I was very happy :)
My previous upload, "Into the Heart". Thanks for stopping by, taking a look, leaving a comment and faves.
It's a hot one here! Over 100 F, probably around 105. :P I am keeping cool indoors... until I have to go out again. I hope you are all well and having an enjoyable weekend.
Hugs,
~Melinda~

What a great shot, I went to our fair last week, I was there during the day though so no night shots, and I really can't imagine carrying a tripod around a fair, then you have no free hands for stuff like cotton candy haha.. and I hope we will see some shots of Vegas, I love to go there, its been a while and I am so ready for a trip back, we always stay at the Monte Carlo resort. Great photo Melinda, and great to hear your hubby was able to save the day!!
Great shot - I think the handheld aspect add to the overall atmosphere. Well done.
outstanding result! well done! RS
Fabulous capture!
Coool light capture.
Wonderful capture! that star filter is just right! Sounds like you had a lot of fun!
Aaaay, Melinda, long time, no see! Sounds like you have all the fun: constant traveling, excursions to Pomona, etc. Glad you got your Rebel working again, that is a real kick in the shin when your camera acts up. I recently lost one of my favorites, a Konica Minolta DiMage Z3, to battery leakage. Boy, was I bummed out on that. That said, you did great with good contrast considering this was a hand-held shot, young lady. Might help to tote along at least a monopod next time. They are light weight and relatively easy to carry. It's hot here also, but no where as bad as where you live. Incidentally, I think I passed your place last Sunday driving on the 5 Freeway going up to Lebec, which is just a little past Gorman.
Wow!
Awesome neon colors
