Description
One day I went into my bedroom and saw this guy/gal running across the floor. Its body is about 1 ½ inches long or 38.1 mm long. I grabbed my camera and at first it stopped at my bed then run into my closet where I took this shot of it stopped at one of my hiking boots laying on the floor. To think that this spider was running around my bedroom at night when I was asleep is just too creepy! I have no idea how long it was in there, how something this big could go unnoticed is beyond me. Anyway I trapped it with one of them big plastic Solo cups and put it outside.
I couldn’t find a match for it in my books, but it looks like it could be in the Wolf-Spider family.
Hope you are not crept out to much by this and zoom if you dare!
Thanks for the comments.

Wow... that's a seriously big spider. :) Yeah, that would be creepy to have it at home and not know since when. I use the same technique to put spiders and bugs out outside, except that i use an empty blank CDs tower instead of a cup. The advantage of it is that it is large, with smooth walls that most bugs can't climb, and it has a lid that locks. :)
He is a big devil, wonder where he hid, bet you glad he has vacated the houise :o)
Hoohoo as much as I like spiders that one would be too big for me to let live in my house.
An interesting spider. Excellent shot, fantastic details.
Wonderful shot Kim and glad that you didn't kill it.
YIKES! A Liiitle too big for my guts. And NOOOTT in my bedroom please LOL ! Excellent capture indeed.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a beast. A big boy, huh?!;D His head resembles the head of a mouse. I'm glad you could take a picture. I find it wonderful! p.s. Watch out, Kim, maybe he has brought his boyfriend with in. Have a good sleep ;-)
a big spider! cool picture! I think it is a boy!!!!!
OMG, I'm allways scared of spiders.. excellent macro! Very courageous :)
Great capture - both image and the critter.
indeed a creepy moment, but you're very brave to take the time, capture it and bring the poor basterd outside. well done1 RS
WOW....Marvelous details my friend, a fantastic shot!
I do not think should be nice to have him. Great capture , fantastic shot !
Splendid composition and colors my friend
Yikes!
Nice job
Yikes, that is one big Guy/Gal. Now I can not sleep lol.
Outstanding work!
My wife hates that kind of big spider. It's creepy indeed !
yes I heard of big spiders in pillow cases. My mom told us of them so we check for spiders in our pillow cases every night. I do not do that now but I might start after seeing this shot.
Hope you are looking in your hiking boots before slipping your feet in... But a good close up of this little visitor.
If it runs really fast it probably is some type of wolf spider. Not good to have them in your bedroom as I have had some nasty bites from them...lots of scratching...big red mark...big hole in your skin...and you can even sleep right through it.
Creepy is Right!! great shot!!
Well it would be time for me to leave the House and let him have it..LOL..Yea it could have curled up in a corner some where and not be Notice..Creepy indeed..Excellent Shot
Wolf spider, eh? A little bigger and I'd believe he might be able to take a wolf. I read somewhere that people actually eat about 8 spiders a year in their sleep (on average). As many spiders as there are running around, I suppose it's conceivable that occasionally one might venture too close to a sleeping mouth. How's that for gross?
Oh my goodness I can see his eyes, on dear I would have really freiked out if I found that in my bedroom. You are so brave to actually catch it in a beaker, well done to you my friend, hugs Jane xx oh in the scariness of it all I forgot to say amazing shot, I would have been shaking so much if it were me. well done!!!!!!!!!!! hugs Jane xx
jolie bete!!
Very great shot, so great it make my skin crawl. I won't sleep tonight for sure. I always shake my shoes before I put them on since I moved to Fl. So many creepy crawlers around. I once had a similar spider in the hallway outside my bedroom. It was carrying babies on it's back and they all jumped off and were running around. I'm afraid I had to spray them all. I felt very bad about it. I'm glad you were able to put your's outside.
Wow! This is a creepy critter. Glad you were able to capture and get rid of it. Great shot!
