Description
I was recently, in the Copp's Hill Burying Ground, in Boston, Massachusetts. I know that this is not a very old headstone, as far as some parts of the world are concerned but for Boston it is. There are some older stones but not in this condition. I thought of Jocko (Jocko500) and it turns out to be his birthday.
Here lyes the body of John Vlall
Aged 76 years Died
November the 13th 1720
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.

Great capture and a wonderful? birthday gift? for Jocko!
Lovely capture. I've always loved old cemeteries...especially ones with history behind them. This is a wonderful capture of a classic style of old stone.

great shot and i hope Jocko will double those 76 years!
bonne photo!!
Superb capture of the very ornate headstone, Dana. I'm glad you printed the epitaph because it's virtually unreadable in the photo. Amazing. 76 years was an unusually long lifespan for that era. He sure didn't get cheated. And, how did you know it was Jock's birthday?
This really is a very old headstone and it is still in great condition.
Wonderful shot Dana, superb cravings and dedication, amazing job my friend!
Great find and capture! 76 years, safe to say he died on old age for back then.
I just love graveyard shots...when I worked full time at the school we would go to deserted graveyards and write poems and sit and listen etc...nice memories.
