Description
The most common animal seen in the Canadian Rockies was Mountain Goats or Bighorn Sheep. This one was sitting on the edge of a cliff that had to have a 300 foot drop into the Sunwapta Valley and the Athabasca River. This young one had no problem, with me walking to within 8 feet to take this shot – don’t know if an older adult would have let me get that close. That does it for Jasper National Park and on to Banff National Park.
Taken with a film camera (July & August 1988) and recently scanned.

He's truly magnificent. Gazing over a sight he knows only as "home." Marvelous shot.

Kind of scary to get that close with a 300 ft free fall clift. Nice shot. Aloha

You have really got the impression of the big drop in this shot.
What a pic, Dana! It knows you're there, look at the eye!
That's a nice one Dana, but it is a Bighorn Sheep. Mountain goats are a different animal.
