Return of the Zebrats! Gil taught them to beg for cookies, you see. So now, of course, nobody in the house can eat cookies without a Zebrat knowing about it and demanding its share. And Gil was reading quietly until then... It's a long story. Gotta minute or two? OK. On the mission to recover Kaminski from the Chidimbasi Oni, well, the Gotth team also collected Gil, a male Oni, and Coruanu, an Elf. Between getting back from the (now ruins of) the Chidimbasi city where they got the guys, and back home to Gotth Hill, they were staying at Meri's original clan-home. And, well, Gil found some Zebrats and thought they were pretty...semi-wild critters that are a lot like their earthly bretheren, the Plain Ol' Rats. Hey, Gil didn't know any better. Before he'd been sent to that hell that was the caverns under the research facility, in the Male-cloister of his family, Clan Pelu, they'd had a cat--very, very rare on their world, and he had liked the cat a lot. NO, not to eat. Gil is a gentle person. So...Gil saw the pretty Zebrats, who were smart and trainable...taught them to beg for cookies, of course. Thought it was cute. Oh boy. Well, some came back in the luggage. Now Gotth Hill has a small colony of Zebrats. They dare not cross Dolores (Lady of Sorrows and Alex's great grandmother) so they hang with Gil. Or hide. Or sneak around the garden. Doing ratty things, of course. But hey, they're cute! And so is Gil, for that matter. We like him lots, and he's a big sweetie pie. No, this IS weird for an Oni--and Oni are ogres. Big, horned ogres. Shh, don't tell him it's weird. It'll crush him.
