Description

(I have had so many problems trying to render the court scenes, so Ithought I might as well just upload this picture instead, which is another still from my upcoming Davros animation. Thanks again to Redfern for his Davros stuff.) PART TWO 'The Court will Rise!' The tribunal judges took their places for the arraignment, entering from the behind the large marble facade of the Galactic Supreme Court. A complicated behind the scenes legal battle had been fought over the location of Davros' trial. As a compromise he had been placed on trial on the moon under Galactic Law, although he would be sentenced (depending on the outcome, although no one in the know doubted what that outcome would be) under Earth Empire law. This was because he was officially on trial for the crimes committed by the Daleks against the human race. This was argued for on the Terran side because the original ‘arrest’ was by a Terran citizen. However the rest of the Milky Way and not forgetting the representations from as far afield as the Andromeda Galaxy and the Magellanic clouds, could not be ignored entirely. Hence this convuluted compromise. Daw-son quietly examined Davros’ face out of the corner of his eye. There was no reaction on his part as the Judges took their seats. Presiding in this case were High Lord Judge Stefan of the Eurocat Alliance, he was a tall dark skinned human with a mass of black hair swept back from his face. Under him were Lord Judge Stephanie Saychun of the Fritiean Archipelago, she was a squat, angular headed humanoid from a civilization that had developed in the crowded space of an interstellar nursey. Last but not least was Lord High Judge Winston Masterbald Smith of the Imperial Lunar Alliance, put forward for this case by the Lunar Emperor himself no less. Judge Stefan addressed the Court Administrator who rose to read out the charges. “Case number 43592-4P; The Prosecutor versus the Kaled known as Davros,” the official cleared her throat before continuing. “ The Defendant is subject to a total of twenty charges in total. He is alledged to have been instrumental in the creation of the Dalek Race, who have been responsible for the extermination of countless races throughout Galatic History. Specifically the defendant is charged with knowingly engineering a weapon of mass destruction and of bringing about genocidal war and the enslavement of subject races, counter to Part 6 of the Nuremberg Principles and the Omniversal Declaration of Sentient Rights as embraced by the Fifth Galactic Forum.” “And how does the Defendant Plead?” Stefan addressed Daw-son. Davros did not show any sign of acknowledgement. Dawson rose to address the hearing: “Mr Davros wants the Court to know that he considers these proceddings to be illegal. He states that he was brought here under duress by agents of the Earth Empire in what amounts to abduction by a crew of pirates.” Lord Judge Stephanie Sychun addressed Davros. “The circumstances of your being brought to this tribunal have no bearing on the seriousness of the charges that you face. It is in the Greater Interest that you are given a fair trial and that you are provided with representation. If you do not wish to enter a plea, we will enter a plea on your behalf of Not Guilty.” “Do so then!” snarled Davros. “Just do not bore me with any more of your vainglorious prattle.” “Silence!” bellowed Winston Masterbald Smith. He addressed the Defendant’s consule: “Mr. Dawson I would advise you to remind your client that he is subject to the Authority of this Court and that as such he is not immune to its sanctions.” Stefan nodded to the Court Administrator: “ Very well. Enter a plea of Not Guilty on the Defandents behalf. Davros will continue to be held in Earth Authority custody on the Moon. The Date of the next hearing is fixed for the 20th March 4322. This Arraignment is now concluded.”

The Davros animation will be a segment of the Big Finish Audio -'Davros'; a very intensely moody piece mostly with Davros addressing the camera. It also has Colin Baker's Doctor in, which I am in two minds whether to leave him off screen or to use another 3d actor. I have another M3 with a dreadful coat on at the moment:)
