Description
...found this spiffy lady at an airshow in Kansas City. It was one hot day...mid 90s (f)
There were 9,000 B-25s built and today only about 30 remain.
Very zoom worthy. Helps you see all the shiny bits:)
...This WWII B-25J, "Miss Mitchell", served in the 310th Bomb Group, 57th Bomb Wing of the 12th Air Force in North Africa and Italy completing over 130 missions. Its legacy of no crew fatalities during all of its missions was a rare accomplishment.
For those who want a little more info here's a web page for you.

Miss Mitchell is a very fine lady who protects her men! Great capture, Bill!
wonderful shot of the plane and the people enacting with it
What a fabulous shot of Miss Mitchell Bill, and thats an amazing record to have in protecting its crew.. Great capture and posting!!
Oooooooohhh ... lovely shiny bits! Zoom is great. I really like the reflections. The landscape behind you is visible in the engine ... housing ... nacel ... whatever it's called. (Too much Star Trek, you think?), and I love the reflection of the prop in the fuselage. (Okay, THAT I'm sure about.) :P Nice shot!
Great capture I was looking for a little demure lady LOL Not an airplane ha ha Hugs Susan~
Great Bill. Yes very zoom worthy mate. I gotta say that shiny planes like this always catch my eye. Thanks for posting this.
Very nice bird!
OH Yes, zoom is worth the click. :-) Excellent capture of a beautiful plane.
Brilliant capture Bill.
Superb shiny thing!!!! Our Air Show is on at present but as Buster can be very upset by some of the noise I doubt I shall go and watch...I can hear it all from the house and hold his paw, so to speak.
Cool capture!!
Very cool capture Bill.
There IS a nice girl! Impressively taken and LOOK how close you can get.. I am so Jealous.. Health and Safety would have fits over this! Lovely big B-52 behind as well. Good one Bill. Rob
you are lucky to see this!! wonderful plane and photo!!
outstanding image!!
I went to the site to see if I could find out why Miss Mitchell? Great plane!!!!
Ooh, lots of shiny metal, I'd be right up against it shooting weird angles and lines, and you'd never know where they came from!
Beautiful plane
Great capture and information Bill!
Well, I thought that skyline looked familiar! LOL! When was this show? If it was a couple years ago, I was there with my dad, but he was getting hot and tired, so we left early. We saw the B25 fly in as we were leaving. Nice shot of this classic, Bill!
SUPER COOL IMAGE!!!
Nice shot of the venerable lady, sitting proudly and being admired by the onlookers, Bill. But only 30 remain? That is sheer blasphemy and shortsightedness. I know there's one down here at the Chino Air Museum. And one visited us during the annual air show held in Los Alamitos last year.
bonne photo!
Superb image! :)
Lovely 'silver bird'. Great zoomed. As Rob says 'H&S would have a fit'.
Sad that only 30 remain out of so many, I wonder where the other 29 are located.. Nice job..
