Description
I missed this one. I was inside the museum and was standing right by the door to go out into the court yard. But never did. wish I had . I could got some real close up shots of this wonderful plane. What caught my eye outside was movement out the cornder of my eye and i saw the lady and the plane then. I rush to get the shot in with the lady.
I remember my dad talking about Claire Lee Chennault because he worked at Chennault airbase here in Lake Charles intill it closed down and he retired.
here a link to the Flying Tigers

Wonderful shot, Jocko!!!!!!!!
Fantastic capture, Jocko! Very beautiful plane
Quite a suspension system keeping this historic P-40 in the air. The planes camouflage makes it difficult to see...but that was the whole purpose:) Thanks for this Jocko.
Wow, a cool capture of lots of stuff in this image! The P-40 must have pretty good suspension to keep it from crashing into the buildings and lampposts, Jock.
Great plane, there - & cool John Wayne movie, too . . . !
LOL a great shot... looks like the guy below is lunch for the Tiger plane..
I would love to see that as the P-40 is one of my favorite aircraft. And the Flying Tigers are legendary. Nice shot Jock.
Excellent find Jocko....!!!

Interesting shot, beautiful photo! :)
outstanding capture Jock.looks like the lady is carrying laundry
Nice plane. I like that stair and handrail on teh left.
Great looking planes. Wonderful shot.
I see a lady doing laundry?? What a job that must have been to get his up
I believe the Flying Tiger's flew in Burma before the U.S. ever entered WW II. They were wild cat pilots from the Great Generation that served proudly. A classic aircraft well deserving of its place in Aviation history. Well done Jocko...a great shot
SUPERB SHOT
Yep, those were the bad boys of that air war
