Description

Ridge surprises Joey and Clint with a chartered overnight cruise on an old paddle wheel river boat the night before they plan to continue their westward journey on Old Route 66. Several years ago, Ridge befriended two brothers, Duke and Lance Longtree who own this big paddlewheel boat. Ridge was able to reserve it for the three of them. The brothers and a couple extra crewmen will accompany them to operate the paddlewheel. They are in for a big treat. The Mighty old Mississippi looks rather calm tonight so they should have a fine time. Nate invites himself along without any protestations from the group. He knows both owners of the boat and has partied with them on several occasions. They stay at his Mother’s B&B once in awhile, so Nate’s Mother is familiar with their character. She knows them well enough to trust her son with them. Once they all get to the dock, they find Duke and Lance waiting for them. There is a local radio station blasting music from the loudspeakers of the dock store, so Nate does some funny dance maneuvers and struts around the dock like a rooster in heat, much to the amusement of everyone, especially Joey. In fact, Joey can’t seem to take his eyes off Nate. Duke gathers a few supplies from the dock store and loads them aboard the paddlewheel. Soon, everyone else climbs aboard and they cast off.
