Description
And the final offering from my day at Windsor, a shot of the external wall from the exit gate.
Overall, an excellent day out. There was so much to see and do. I do wish I could have taken some interior shots but, alas, it is not permitted.
Maybe I shall return here again one day, and, hopefully, sooner than the fifty five years it's taken me this time. :-)

There were so many people there that day, how did you manage to edit them all out? Nice depth in this shot Kev.
Though crenilated, the thin walls and windows tell of a time of security for the king or owner of the castle, as contrasted with earlier times. Though simple on the outside, the architecture says a lot about the transition between medieval and renaissance style and times. What I find quite interesting is the different colors of the stone blocks in the wall, suggesting rebuilding or repairs at various points in the past. Thanks for this fine series of photos from Windsor. As you say, a pity no photography indoors. I recall that was the rule back in 1969, too.
bonne photo!
