Description
Cocoon in Flight.
Heading for space once again is Cocoon, the huge multi-configurable cargo carrier designed by NASAs Head of Operations Robert L Carter for the purpose of getting America back into space after the end of the space shuttle programme.
After the unparalleled success of the Cocoons first test flight Carter has managed to convince the Aero-Space Certification Board, the body which oversees the test flights of all new space and aero-space craft to allow Cocoon to carry an actual payload into space on this its second test flight, rather than the dummy payload it would normally be required to carry.
Carter knows that with NASAs orbital shuttles taking up space at three of the five docking ports on the International Space Station he has to find away to extend the stations living and docking capacity to accommodate the craft and personnel NASA will be sending into space in the not too distant future as part of his grand master plan for the future of America in space. A plan only he and a select few including the current American President are fully aware of.
Riding with Cocoon today are the component elements which will make up the first phase of Carters plan to extend the orbiting ISS.
