Description
I left El Paso, Texas for Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico and I could see El Capitan in the Guagalupe Mountains National Park, Texas, about 100 miles away. El Capitan is the peak on the left side – at 8,751 feet.
The photo was taken in the 1996 and then scanned recently.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

Great capture! Looks forbidding
Long ago...that place was covered by glaciers then lakes, then rivers, and now desert ! Maybe the global warning ! :)) Gorgeous capture I like this Wowwww

Enchanting image Dana, loved everything here, well done!
Now that is big! A Grand capture! :)
Amazing--I wonder how high that actually is--bet it can be seen for miles around!!
Super duper clarity, colors and textures, Dana! I'd hate to have to scale that rough and raw mountain.
It looks like a carved sculpture if you didn't know the scale, like a Chinese ivory carving. Spectacular shot.
real big
Hey, Texas! Of course it could just as well be in another state as far as nearness goes. Beautiful clarity and color! I like the brave little bush saying "GREEN!"
Very impressive place.
That is whats amazing with RR, one minute you are in Quebec then onto Texas, wonderful capture!!!!
