Description
I had an exchange with Andrea (durleybeachbum) about the green spaces in Tokyo. Japan is 378,000 kilometers in area. In 1976 the Eastern coast of Japan’s main island Honshu, from Tokyo south to Kobe, held 45% of the population of 113,000,000 in just 17% of the land area. Tokyo was a city of almost nine million people. Despite this I found an amazing amount of green space, both municipal and private. There are many parks and the shrines and temples all have gardens. The Japanese seem to have a great reverence for nature and create the most beautiful gardens.
