Description
The people of Lindau have passed this doorway for more than half a millennium. I admired the graceful flowing style of the inscription of the date of the house/doorway. Worth a second look, I thought.

Very interesting markings Good eye and great capture
1541! Amazing. Makes me wonder...did the artisan who carved those numbers have any idea we'd be looking at them 469 years later...hope my math is right:-)
Wow, that's lasted quite a long time! Nice shot!
Simply stunning! That's what I like about Europe! There can be a door post, a threshold, a water closet, or a piece of dirty stuff that happens to be older than the very country I live in now! This is most definitely worth a second look, and I love the shape of that inscription...there's something in the shapes of those linguistic (numeric) squiggles that causes an atavistic response (at least in me) and I love the feeling I get when looking at this!
Great capture jean..
