Description
I hadn't slept well the previous night, so I crashed early. When I woke up, it wasn't because of a noise, but a feeling. I could see shadows in the hallway and there was an occasional rustling sound. Still in a daze, I assumed I was in the middle of a strange dream, but it seemed so real. Then, as I watched, a head and long neck peeked into the hall. A few more appeared and then they came into the hall. Others were still walking about the living room judging from all the shadows dancing on the walls. Two of them looked into my dark bedroom, then turned and left. One by one, they filed back out of the hallway and the shadows vanished. There was a slight click of the front door and then silence. Shrugging, I nuzzled my pillow and went back to sleep.
