Description
Taking the good advice of Oshyan, I tried one of his suggestions: Using Oloneo, a new program to enhance my original image 'Canyonlands'. I had reworked the vegetation a bit and increased the contrast a little and saved the image as a .tif file. Then, taking the .tif into Photoshop, I made a second adjustment darkening the sky a bit saving both first and second files.
I took both .tif files into Oloneo and created an HDR tone mapping image using the two .tif files. From here, I took the saved adjustments back into Photoshop and saved the image as a .jpg.
I hope you like the results. I have always tended to be a bit too conservative with post work adjustments thinking with the purest attitude. Maybe it is time to start thinking out of the box ... maybe to saturated, we'll see.

beautiful scenery, stunning realism 5+
Well, the result is stunning, Bob. I like it even better than the original.
I think it's gorgeous! Looks like a photo! Corrie
A very nice mood, fine color tuning.
Excellent post card Bob. Ground looks very real and as always a great sky.
Very, Very well done. outstanding Realism!
This is very awesome!
looking good Bob, just for fun I ran it through Photoshop starting off making it a smart object then adding a curves adjustment layer on auto, shadows/highlights adjustment along with a high-pass sharpening layer set to overlay set at 70% opacity and it looks like a real photo crisp and clear. Thanks for the tip about Oloneo. I'll check it out.
Much improved lighting. I like it. One more suggestion, however, the ground looks too purple on my monitor. Could be my monitor, although!!!
wonderful light and vegetation, I love the format also. Excellent done Bob!!!!!
I would love to take a photo such as this.. beautiful work great sky!
Superb photo realism, Bob!!!
superb work, wonderful light
I like this very much. It brings pleasure to see this beauty, virtual though it may be -- you found a piece of heaven and stole it and set it in front of us.
Thank you all for visiting ...glad you liked the picture.
It's a great improvement Bob!I think Oshyan had a good suggestion! It's an accepted methodology to "enhance" with postwork! We all do it & most artists will agree it's O.K. as long as we don't overdo it & that we admit the postwork was done. Thanks for the tip concerning Oloneo in conjunction with Photoshop too! BTW if you were to change the color of the ground surface to a black lava, you would have a very close approximation for "Craters of The Moon" near Boise,Idaho!
I like the rich colors in this version Bob; reminds me of some of the Arizona Highways covers I saw as a kid.
Richtig klasse Arbeit und Farben !
