Description
From my last post, it seemed like a hand rose up to stop the lava flow. This hand figure stayed in this position for about a minute or so. Then it slowly sank down leaving the lava to move swiftly down hill. Aloha and thank you for viewing
PS. Lava update. On Saturday morning, Civil Defense drove their car thru the thick black smoke to warn Gary of the approaching lava as it was about to block his escape route. I called Gary on his cell but only got the answering service. Eventually, Gary came walking out with his backpack and his camera. Gary doesn't seemed very worry or at least he hides it pretty good. He had his house up for sale and does have house insurance if the lava did come. He jokingly says to us that he is selling seats to watch his house burn by the lava. Last night, my son says the lava is getting closer to his house. There are a lot of tree's and vegetation near his house and the threat of fire is even more so. Will be going down there early Tuesday morning. Hang in there "Gary"

Awesome.
OMG!!! this is real drama unfolding before our eyes!!!! insanely fantastic shots!!!!!
You got any shots of Gary's place and how close the Lava is? and how fast is the Lava moving? How long before you think the lava will overtake his place?... or will it? Nice shot and interesting content.
True drama, Errol. I will be thinking of Gary and his family. I hope the lava flow misses his house. Hugs and Aloha. Diane. xx
Horrific for Gary..I should not cope with the loss of my house by any means.
An exceptional image! I hope Gary's house is saved!
Very sad to hear but mother nature spares only what she wants seems we are always caught in the path of destruction.Great shot as always.
amazing shot !!
How beautiful, but how much devastation. Tell Gary someone in Boone, North Carolina is thinking of him!
This is an amazing shot of the hand. It really does look like it is attempting to halt the flow. I wish the best for Gary and his home. Does he have his valuables out of it or will he lose everything? A scary and sad situation.
An amazing series my friend.
Really nice image! Great capture!
Wonderful!
awesome work on this!
Awesome looking Hugs Susan~
the hand of the lady of the volcano stop her lave so you can photo it to show the world. She saw you walk on her lava many time and show this act for you. [I do not know why that hand came up. My guess is that something under the lava got rolled over and the hand came up... my guess anway] hope the best for him. i know my house burn one time long ago. i hear you can go get the clothes free at the salvation army.
Oh, poor Gary, that would be a hard thing to take even with insurance. This is a truly stunning shot. I hope it stays away from your son's house.
Truly awesome! I seem to feel the heat! I hope Gary does not have problems!
Awesome capture! I'm glad to hear he got out safe. :)
