Description

“Dad?” Sandy called from the family room. “Yes,” he said as he entered the room carrying a cup of coffee. “I’ve been going through some old albums and, well, who is this woman? Do I know her?” Taking the seat next to her his eyebrows raised, lift the cup to his lips and took a sip before he answered. “Where did you find this?” his eyes still on the image of the young woman. “I was cleaning out the closet and just found it.” Looking over at him, “So who is she, there are several pictures of her.” He cleared his throat, “Well she was an old girlfriend.” His voice dropped of as the memories of her flood back. He could almost smell her perfume a soft scent of lilacs, and hear her gentle laugh. A slow smile crossed he face. Sandy watched his face and frowned. “I thought Mom was your only girlfriend.” He laughed softly, “You didn’t think I only dated your mother did you?” He nudged her shoulder. “She was the one that got away.” His voice grew soft as he spoke, “You see she wanted to be an actress, she was full of life and I loved her. But I wanted a family we had different dreams. After she left for California I met you mom and she captured my heart.” Sandy watched him never really thinking her parents had a life before they met. “So did you keep in contact with her?” He shook his head, “No, never tried she broke my heart when she left. I didn’t realize I still had pictures of her.” His eye grew distant it has been years since he thought of her. Shaking his head he looked at his daughter. “So she was the one that got away,eh?” Sandy teased. “Oh I guess you could say that, but after meeting your mother I didn’t think of her.” Sandy smiled and closed the album and they talked for a long while. Sandy stood handing him the album and kissing on the forehead before she left to get ready for work. He opened the album after hearing Sandy call her goodbyes and promises to drive safely. He turned to his favorite picture, it was taken at a park near her house. They had a picnic enjoying each others company. He pulled out a camera took pictures of her that day. His index finger trailed along her jaw line as he whispered, “you were the one that got away, and I still missed you.”

Great image, just the feet driving me around the twist, I see so many use poses but they don't fix the feet to be flat on the ground, as they would be. Even so, everything else is top notch - and as for HIM - he better get rid of those pictures - still missed her! Ha! If you can't be, with the one you love, - love the one you with! - Hehehe - fantastic work, see - so realistic I got into it.
