Description
Inside Hammond Castle, Gloucester, Massachusetts. One of the reasons that John Hays Hammond, Jr. built his home, as a castle, was to house his collection of Medieval armor and artifacts. The golden hue is the combination of their type of lighting and me not use a flash. It is so dark in there that any type of flash gave the metal a harsh and washed out look. I think that it is time that I broke down and bought a tripod or at least a unipod. This is a Medieval Knight Helmet.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments.
They are very much appreciated.

So this is a knight shot? Great capture, Dana.
I love these things...at least in a modern context. I'm always amazed at suits of armor. They're always so impressive...until you look at how short those guys were! I really like this photo, though; the color is the sort of color I'd intentionally go for, so yeah, tripods, unipods, or a friend holding his breath while you use his back as a stabilizer is always a plus. This is fantastic! I love the little details when zoomed to full view.
Lol! To Faemike55 :D Great Helmet and capture!
wonderful photo!!
Really cool subject and great photo. Awesome work!!
I am an armor fan...have done a lot of reading on it over time. This is a handsome piece. You photographed it very well.
I love to look at these, but I would sure hate to have to wear one! Beautiful shot!
Absolutely beautiful shot Dana, great image!

excellent capture!
Can you imagine going to war dresses in such heavy armour, lovely capture!!!!
WONDERRRRRFUL
Terrific clarity in this capture, considering the dim light, in this quasi sepia tone foto, Dana! And, yes, a tripod comes in most handy in these situations.
I love the golden tones. Very impressive really, I think you did a stellar job.
Beautiful shot and Helmet
wow a beauty ..I often wonder how they even moved with all the metal on them lol
