Description
A remake of a classic picture for a classy lady. :-) The bar in Merlin's tavern kept reminding me of the bar in Manet's (?) Barmaid portrait. I couldn't match the expressions but I tried to capture the mood of the central character anyhow. I've probably worked harder on this render than ever before -- rendered three passes and composited them, using different light sets and masks...plus, positioning figures and duplicating (and finding) props ain't all that easy in Merlin's Tavern (for sale here). Still, MT is a marvelous setting for many different kinds of renders and I love it! So, Ute, here's your dedication I've been promising! :-) Hugs from Jan

excellent scene
Jan, you did a great job on this image. So glad you did it for Ute, she is a wonderful lady.
Oh' 1000 thank's dear Jan, she looks even great without smile, there is a lot of mood in (she dont like her job anymore), very well done sweetie, thank you again, hug's Ute
You got it, Ute! :-) That was exactly the feeling I got when I looked at the original portrait. The lady didn't want to be there but was making the best of it. ;-) I've always loved that portrait...the lady's dress was so pretty and her expression so unique. So when I decided to 'remake' her, I thought of you. You're a beautiful lady, unique, and classy. Classic portrait for classy lady. :-) Thanks for commenting and I'm glad you like the dedication. I didn't mean to imply that you were a barmaid!!! :-) I was thinking "classic for classy lady." :-) Classy, to me, means gracious and someone to be respected. ;-) Hugs, Jan Thanks, you guys. After I put it up, I worried..."Will Ute think I'm saying she's a barmaid? Maybe I should've tried to remake one of other beautiful ladies painted by the Old Masters." But I wanted to do this one, because of Merlin's Tavern, which I love. And the lady kind of reminds me of Miss Kitty a bit -- who is one of my favorite TV characters (Gunsmoke) although I think Miss Kitty liked her job! :-) Anyway, thank you for the comments and I hope you all see it for the compliment that I meant it to be. :-) I did work hard on the composition...changed the location of some props. Tried to find exactly the right expression and failed but maybe I got the mood halfway right. It's not easy to recreate something by the Old Masters! :-) Again, I appreciate ALL of your comments and thank you VERY, VERY much!!! I also enjoy looking at all of your galleries, also! :-) Jan

Hi, Fiery Fire!!! :-) Thank you! I love to model and I love to share...I'm glad you like the clothes that Lightwave (my favorite program) turns out. :-) I give Lightwave most of the credit...:-) Yes, I will definitely check out your images. Thank you for using the clothes!!! Now, if I can remember my password to Deviant Art... It was really sweet of you to thank me in this way, and I appreciate it. I hope you have a really wonderful day. You've surely brightened mine. :-) Jan
Oh! I gotta give OKCRandy credit, too. I used his V4 Dev pack as starter mesh for some of the things I've done. He's very kind to let me use the pack for freebies...all I have to do is link to the product page, and I don't mind doing that at all! :-) Jan
