Description
How about this? I know the name of this insect, but if it is a butterfly or a moth, I am not certain. It looks like a little butterfly to me, but it is only about 30mm from wing tip to wing tip.

Have a wonderful day.
We have a bit cooler weather today with clouds and sun and a bit wind, so it is great weather for me :-) Today I am not complaining. LOL !

Fantastic photos! family: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyralidae
Hmmm well to my untrained eye this looks much more like a moth than a butterfly?
Small Magpie Moth? exquisite macro
Excellent capture helle.I don't know but you have always the good and beautiful eye.Bravo
What a terrific pic, with such detail!!
Gorgeous moth capture. I know these guys- One QUITE beautiful one got squished when my door closed. Wrong place at the wrong time but still I feel so guilty...
superb
bonne photo!!
Wow, fantastic photo ;o)))))))))))))))
Very nice work. Am pretty sure it is a moth.. it's body is a bit bulky for a butterfly. (Not an expert, but that is how I can usually tell them apart) Wing shape seems like moth to me as well.
Lovely shot, especially zoomed in. The moth looks so soft, almost furry. And I love the two views of the moth.
This is wonderful Helle, I can't get over the fine details you captured
Beautiful markings and colours! So up close and personal! This is wonderful! Love the background as well, my Friend! Superb artwork and presentation!
I vote moth... but what a beauty Helle! Lovely captures my dear friend!
Excellent capture
In the palm of your hands, incredible shot.... Aloha
a gorgeous shot, Helle, so wonderful clear and amazing,
Lovely captures with a nice clarity. We don't have this little chap down here.
Amazing captures! Stunning detail and texture! On zoom, it looks like he's wearing a fur cloak.
Outstanding and I love the postwork!
I'm guessing Moth! Regardless, a beautiful creature & capture!
Beautiful little moth I think. :) Excellent capture and postwork adding a top view! :)
WOW! Will you look at all of those details! This little critter is wearing a quite extravagant fur coat too! I love all of those little hairs. I love the colors too! This is exquisite. As for whether it is a moth or a butterfly, I can't really tell. I always thought Moths looked a little bit like they were wearing capes because their wings rest down, and butterflies rest with their wings folded up like sails...but I could be wrong. It doesn't matter though, because this picture is gorgeous! What a specimen!
I have a hard time getting good shots of moths. I guess I need them on my hand, these are nice captures!
