Description
Tiger Rose isn't a long lost love, it's the t-shirt. Around 1974, I was in the Navy, near San Francisco. I had a favorite t-shirt with a design by Mouse/Kelley (famed for their Grateful Dead album covers). So, I met a girl and we started going out and she loved my Tiger Rose shirt. Couldn't find another, so I gave her mine. Yep, the shirt right off my back. She said she used it as a nightshirt. Of course, it didn't work out and we parted, but I spent many a night on my ship, knowing my prized Tiger Rose was living a much better life.
A few days ago, I came across a website with some 60s poster art and then found a Mouse/Kelley section and saw the Tiger Rose for the first time in almost 40 years. Memories flooded in and I knew I had to use the small image to recreate a tshirt. This design was used for an album cover by Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter.
