Description

I feel a bit like a wind age sailor looking at a spaceship as I view Bryce right now. I have had Bryce5 and then ver 6 for ages but barely ever used them because the front end is pretty daunting. The other day I saw the sale on Vue Frontier at Daz so had a look at that and a play with their free version and was very impressed to say the least. Then I thought, hang on a mo, I have Bryce so why buy Vue if it does the same things so here I am experimenting with Bryce. I think Vue may have an easier front end but it looks like Bryce is pretty amazing as it still has a bunch of buttons and things I haven't even looked at yet as I don't understand half the ones I have looked at so far. P.S. any tips are welcomed by this Bryce newbie. Vapour trails for the spaceships and even an anchor rope for the sailing ship aren't there yet because I don't yet know how to do them.

Well conceived and fantastic scene!! Love it! Would like to know how you resolve the Bryce vs Vue debate in your own mind. I am working with Vue but haven't tried Bryce.

Wonderful scene! I know your feeling about Bryce. I'm so use to DAZ that I thought I'd just jump right into Bryce 6.3 and just create.... I know what you're going through

You are going to have to learn to not be intimidated by the buttons on your graphics programs and just start pushing and experimenting. Great button pushing on this render. Excellent job.

I've been planning on getting Vue myself but after seeing your work, I had a second thought. You've done a terrific work!

Fantastic image and reflections. There are some great tutorials around for Bryce. Try them, it will help. :-) Corrie

Amazing concept and put together well. The ships detail is awesome, and the reflection work is good. To make this image brilliant, as a suggestion, play around with the landscape materials (and terrain resolution). They can be twerky(not sure if this a real word) at times but they do make a huge difference. Mind you it has been a long time since I played with Bryce, but what I do remember is that if you dig deep, the rewards are huge.

Looks great Martin, reminds me of the fact I owe Bryce 5 too, but at the moment I don't have the mood trying out something new :)

WOW Martin! The water in this is amazing! Nice image. I too have had Bryce for quite a while - the free download. I agree. It doesn't seem too intuitive and hence I too have not done much with it. Heck, I'm still learning P8. Perhaps I should get Bryce out again too. Keep at it. I'm sure it will get easier over time like all things.
