VIEW ENLARGED OK. This isn't an especially wonderful photo but I wanted to upload it because it is the very first duck of this kind I have ever seen and photographed in the wild. The wife and I were sitting out in our camp chairs doing a little reading when suddenly my wife spotted this beautiful Merganser paddling past our campsite with her babies in tow so I grabbed my camera and quickly took a few shots before she got out of range. Sadly, I discovered after that my camera settings had gotten bumped in my haste so none of the images came out especially good. But, I was able to enhance this one enough to make it up-loadable. I thought it was REALLY cute the way the babies were riding on mom's back. Hope you enjoy this peek at these seldom seen ducks. Thanks for all your comments.

This is great, for the reason stated, first time I have seen this kind of duck and also I have never seen baby ducks riding on mommas back like this before. Very cool!

One of my favourite diving ducks. You caught a great moment.

I REALLY like this photo, Mike! In addition to the comparative rarity of this duck, you managed to capture a delightful moment with the chicks riding on mom's back. And for some reason, the ripples in the water seem to add a wonderful motion to this, especially with the pattern being interrupted by the duck's wake. Really great photo, buddy!
