Amazing shot! This has Nemaea written all over it. Maybe Ilya and Aleo introduce Dorianna to the glories of Nemaean tea, brewed in one of these, and of course being Nemaean, they'd call it a Samovar, never mind the fact that it's also a vague radiation hazard. I love it when a photograph evokes things from alternate universes and this really does! Marvelous. I assume those are the cylinders containing pistons? I could do some research, but that would dispel the mystery and I rather like the mystery. Great light on this, and I love the texture. Yeah. Nice.
..and even that is TMI but it's a most attractive object!

Great perspective and it looks just right in B&W, I watched some people at Duxford fitting a restored engine like that and they dropped it,so it was straight back into the workshop.

well, I'm back for one image 'per', today, and I was going to do your exquisite Snoqualmie Falls shot, but since I've already said something about it (though I'll say more soon), I'll comment on this gem for now. One, because I'll probably never hear you say, again, this is a nine-cylinder radial aircraft engine. (That right there's worth the price of admission.) And two, because it's amazing how you take something so mechanical & not immediately attractive to artists, and turn it into a study of beautiful light & form. Your choice of B&W is pitch-perfect, and your mix of sheen next to shadow next to repeated lines next to smooth-surface is abstraction at its best. But actually it's 'machines' at their best, because there's they're intrinsically beautiful in the right eyes. I don't know whose plane you crawled inside of, but it's a beautiful capture, and in its own way, a companion to your Snoqualmie shot, because they both show the workings of something, and they're both beautiful in their own way. Beautiful work, Tara. Great to be here again.
