Description

This is RodS He does mostly Poser work, but he's also a photographer, which is where I first met him. Bill and I had the pleasure of spending an evening with Rod and his lady a couple weeks ago. Let me tell you ... if Rod ever invites you to his house and says he's grilling chicken ... you should go. Yum! Rod really is as lovely a person as he appears to be. We had a wonderful time talking shop, looking at art, trading stories ... opening wine ... Thanks, Rod! :)

Wow, Tara, this is one of the better photos of me that I've seen lately! And it proves that I actually do have some hair left! LOL! I'm hoping that your camera still works OK? The pleasure was all mine - it was great having you and Bill over for an evening of great fellowship! And I'm glad you enjoyed the chicken. I really love grillin' - although I'm not sure the chickens are very enthusiastic about it... And, yes, we did get to drink the wine. All it took was: A screwdriver A 4-inch wood screw A pair of vice-grips A wooden dowel But it was really good wine! I think I'll go get a corkscrew for next time LOL! Thanks for all the great comments, everyone! And thanks, Tara, for a wonderful job on this. This is better than anything an overpriced 'Portrait' chain studio could ever do.

Tara, this really is good. Open and honest shot with a fresh-face appeal. I love Rod's work and I've always thought he had to be a great guy by what he creates... you proved me right. His face says it all.

Lol at Rod--does that mean there were --gasp!!!--pieces of cork in the wine?? I think it tastes better when you have to work for it. Super shot of your new friend; he looks like a very friendly fellow!!

What a marvelous candid shot! You do this so well. It's nice to see faces behind the artwork. I love all of the details you capture here, and well...there was wine involved! That's always good, especially when one gets to engage in the intricacies of the "Opening of the Wine Ceremony" which, in Prague, might often include the use of teeth, once the cork is raised enough...but that's a ramble for another time. This is a great shot of someone I'd love to meet!

You had me at 'opening wine'! When my young friend the Army Reserve Lieutenant first moved to Washington from L.A. he was always complaining about 'the damn hippies' and how nice people were. He couldn't stand it. Now he says he'll never leave. Looking at Rob's portrait I can understand why. You've captured the essence of the man, Tara. An open and honest face with deep smile lines around the eyes. The sparse eyebrows tell me he needs to stand further back from the grill. Brilliant work.
