Description
Walking thru the redwoods is such an amazing experience. The light is filtered for the most part, but there are places where the sun breaks thru. This is one of those spots--it's full of light, and the rest of the forest seems to fade away.

Are you sure I haven't been here? LOL
Oh, we have to visit you and your big trees one of these days. Fascinating subject and proof positive that it is dark in the Redwoods.
Lovely capture of the sunlight breaking through.. well done!!
absolutely beautiful capture
Wonderful illumination by the shaft of light.
and then just for a moment you have too many clothes on!
LOL @ Andrea! Fantastic play of light and shadow Marilyn!
What a beautiful spot you found! I can just smell the freshness in the air! Ive need to do a day trip up north!
Excellent capture and balance of light and dark!
And those areas change as the day goes on...like the lighting here...
I love these scenes; I know what you mean about the extremes of light and dark! It's a real photographic challenge. Nicely done!
Really nice scene. Excellent lighting and capture!
Great light! This is wonderful.
Stark raving contrast in this keen shot of the light versus dark milieu, M!
love the light warm hugs, Linda
I'm one that enjoys these hikes in nature. Aloha
I know how hard it is to catch something like this without overexposing or underexposing one portion. You've managed to capture both the light and darrk perfectly.
This is enchanting! Is the redwood forest considered an old growth forest? It must be if its dark, and well...those Redwoods themselves aren't exactly the newest kids on the block! I love the shadow and the way this light just bursts right through it, boldly but elegantly as only Nature can manage. You caught this so perfectly and I can't believe I didn't see it until now. Sometimes I wonder about me!
Wonderful lighting and a beautiful blanket of ferns below. Dana
