Description
The exhibits at the Nelson-Atkins Museum are SO nicely done! This is a room of Japanese screens and pottery, and you can see how they've been true to the art they're displaying by the WAY they're displaying it.
I was totally impressed.
Being out of town means I'm working on a laptop, which makes me kind of crazy. I'm never sure what my work actually looks like. I hope it's something close to what I THINK I've done!

Clever curation..museums and galleries worldwide are getting so good at it now. It is a most excellent pic...I know nothing about laptops as so far I have no use for one! If I ever get hospitalised I shall have to get one, I suppose.

I really like what you've done. Light & glass with plenty of reflections. And look at those beautiful ultra-shiny floors. All that said, I appreciate the large space that these items are displayed it...it lends a aire of serenity and majesty. I have to remind myself, "Bill, a Japanese art gallery is not a rock concert!"
Love that golden light and the sheen of the glass; if what you wanted to do was give us beauty then you've succeeded very well!

This is very nice! Very elegant. I like the way this has a kind of slant to it that you can't really see, but you can feel it, like it's there but only when you blink. I think it's those pictures displayed on an angle, almost like stair-steps. This is really, really nice!
I peeked over Corey's shoulder when he made his comment on this so it's strangely fitting that mine is right after his. This is quite a Zen photo if ever there was one! I love that amber hue with the whole minimalist vibe going. I studied Japanese for a year, and all I can say is "Woah. Ii desu ne!" But I probably said that wrong. It doesn't translate so well, but it roughly means "Woah. Oooh." And I suspect that "Woah" is just one of those multi-lingual words that means exactly the same thing in EVERY conceivable language. But enough about linguistics...this is quite an elegant and inviting shot. I'd spend HOURS in that one room alone, then go hunting for green tea and a traditional Geisha to sing Elvis Presley songs while playing the koto...but that's just me. This shot is incredible.
